I have stray cats, how can I get them removed?
Call the Bay County Animal Control Facility to see if cat traps are available. If they are available, you may pick up the trap from the shelter and pay a $25 refundable deposit. They will show you how to work the trap before you leave with it. You may pick up the trap on Tuesday and we ask that it be returned the following Friday.
I have stray dogs, how can I get them removed?
Call Animal Control Dispatch and advise the operator that you are requesting a dog trap to be brought to your residence.
I have raccoons or opossums, how can I get them removed?
Call the shelter to make sure they have wildlife traps available. Pick up trap from shelter, pay $25 refundable deposit.
How do I handle a barking dog complaint?
Try to get audio recording 15 consecutive minutes of the dog(s) barking, call animal control dispatch 784-4005, and advise the operator that you have a barking dog complaint and you have audio evidence to turn over to Animal Control
How many animals am I allowed to have in Panama City?
Four. 4 dogs or 4 cats, or any combo of each not to exceed 4 total animals.

Any amount as long as they are properly cared for.
Does animal control handle snakes?

However, if you have captured a snake or find yourself in any unsafe situation concerning a snake, contact Animal Control Dispatch and describe the situation.

Bay County animal control will micro chip your pet for a fee of $10.00 if you bring your pet to the animal control facility during regular business hours.

Call Animal Control Dispatch and ask for a records request for an animal control report. Be sure to have the date and location of the reports your wish.

Yes. The charge is .15 cent per page.

I have found an animal, what should I do?
If you would like to hold the animal, call the shelter to fill out a missing animal report. If you wish the animal picked up, call animal control dispatch at 784-4008.
Is there a fee to use a county trap?
There is a $25 refundable deposit for using any cat or wildlife trap.
What is the fee to have my animal euthanized?
The fee is $15 and you have to bring the animal to the shelter. Cremated remains are available at no charge.
What information should I have when calling to report a dog running loose?
You should have a description of the animal(s), what they are currently doing, what direction they are heading, any collars or tags, location of the owners.
